Dormant Company Accounts generally only have two entries:
Unpaid share capital £1
Shareholders Funds £1
The Filing Deadline for Dormant Company Accounts
The rules are that you must file Dormant Company Accounts with Companies House 9 months after year end.
So if your year end is 31 December 2017 then Dormant Company Accounts need to be filed by 30 September 2018.
The £100 penalty is issued automatically if you miss the filing deadline!
What Do You Need to File
If you’ve got a Dormant Company you’ll need to make sure you file these THREE things:
- Dormant Company Accounts (AA02 Form) annually;
- Confirmation Statement annually;
- HMRC Corporation Tax Return annually or notification that a Company is dormant (one off).
